I’m a stay at home mom of a 17-month-old boy and a 4-year-old boy. In June 2015 I tested positive for the BRCA2 gene. The recommendation was to finish my family and then get all my lady parts removed. In the meantime, I was to do routine screening every 6 months. However, in September 2017, before I was finished nursing my second son, I tested positive for breast cancer. Within 2 months, I had a bilateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. I am now starting chemotherapy and radiation.
Having already had to deal with vet bills for a very sick cat, repairing damages after hurricane Harvey, being out of work, and getting into a car accident, it was a struggle to make ends meet. CareBOX has helped me and my family in a time of great need.
